I love my Dr. So down to earth

The doctor walked in, did not introduce himself and started the visit off with "why are you here". I'll be honest, this is the second doctor within Geisinger system who started the visit off like this and I will no longer be seeking additional service from Geisinger. Never in my life has a doctor spoken to me like this- especially when I was referred to him by another Geisinger physician. The nurse and staff was very friendly and respectful at every facility I've been to. It's sad that Geisinger has signage at their facilities to treat the doctors and nurses with kindness and respect and the physicians don't reciprocate it.

The doctor really didn't seem interested in my problem. I have profound hearing loss In my left ear. He just said , "You're doing everything you can do. " When I indicated that the deafness in my left ear increased rather suddenly, he didn't address this at all. When I asked him if he could recommend a different hearing aid that might address the seriousness of my left ear deafness, he said talk to the audiologist. He was polite (even though he largely ignored my concerns) and pleasant.

Acted like we were there for no reason. Short with us and needs a better bedside manner. Took months to get this appointment and because most of our daughters issue was resolved by then and we decided to follow through with appt because they're impossible to get... He acted like we were wasting his time. We wanted to be thorough at that point. Hearing test lady was very kind and nice. Doctor, not so much.

The doctor seemed rushed and took very little time to explain my condition or options. When I visit a physician, I have a couple of questions on my mind. First of all why is this happening to me and why now and what can be done. Dr. hurriedly explained what he thought was the cause and laid out two options and didn't give me much of a and then give me much hope that anything would work.

I was very confused by the entire interaction. I was offered an earlier appointment which was great however I was told by the provider that he wasn't sure why I was there. Did not examine me at all however the notes following the visit indicated that he gave me a through exam which did not happen. I informed him that I was there for a second opinion from my ophthalmologist, and said that he didn't support my symptoms and needed to see another ENT. Waste of time and money

I already spoke to a Geisinger patient liaison about Dr. Sirotnak, but here is the comment I previously submitted: i saw Dr. John Sirotnak (ENT) at Geisinger's West Olive Street Scranton location. It was one of the worst interactions I've had with a physician. He was nothing but dismissive and treated me like an inconvenience. I am not one to complain unless the service was really bad.I've been dealing with tinnitus for the past six months and waited four months for my appointment since the office didn't have availability for months. Dr. Sirotnak walked in without introducing himself or saying hello and asked what I needed help with. When I said tinnitus, he bluntly responded that there's no cure for that and looked at me as if to say, "Why are you wasting my time?" I think he would've ended the appointment the first chance he had if I didn't take initiative to elaborate on my situation and keep asking questions (much to his chagrin). On my way out, I suggested he work on his blas? attitude. I received this comment on my clinical notes: "Patient was not pleased with me that I could not cure her tinnitus today during this visit." He completely missed the point of my comment. I understand doctors don't always have the answers you want. However, there are nicer ways to tell a patient the symptoms that have been causing them frustration for half a year are most likely permanent. It's called having good bedside manner. I didn't catch their names, but the audiologist and her graduate student who administered my hearing exam were wonderful.

I will not be retuning to Dr Sirotnak.He was extremely ignorant to me.He spoke to me very sarcastically when he answered my questions.I actually confronted him about his attitude and then he changed his behavior .It was the worst experience I ever had with a medical professional .This is my second visit to him. He was great the first time a year earlier I will now be looking for a new ENT.

Don't care for his bed side manner. I know it should not matter but does to me. I like a Dr that listens to me I don't feel this Dr does . I felt he was dismissive.

The doctor seemed extremely frustrated, he should little to no care as to why we were there. I asked questions and he immediately gave me a very rude response. He drained my sons ear as if it was a car wash visit where you go in and out. Didn't explain anything. He was not very friendly, caring nor empathetic. Worst specialist I have ever been too

This Doctor is very good at performing surgeries but as for his bedside manner and just doing a visit with him is a horrible experience. We saw him in his office and he was with us for a total of 10 min or less. Wouldn't look at the xray that I was told to bring for him, basically told us my sons issue is common and didn't understand why people keep being sent to him for this reason. I could get better care looking it up on google then I did seeing him.

The ENT seemed less than interested in my self-reported hearing issues. The audiologist test came back far better than I expected, which might be why he was not very concerned. I still have tinnitus and difficulty hearing people in crowds.

[...] I think he's terrific. I left the office knowing exactly what is wrong with me and how to go about fixing the problem.

Dr. Sirotnak is very caring & listens to what you say. Great doctor.

The Dr treated me like I was a hypochondriac. The minor procedure he did was not explained to me. When he used a spray into my nose he did it quickly and the stuff ran down the front of my shirt.

The [...] was extremely condescending to my problems. A big waste of time. I won't be going back to him. He disregarded ALL my concerns.

Dr. Sirotnak is very thorough & answers any questions you may have.
